The Atelier

Restoration & Reworking

Restoration is not repair. It is the careful continuation of a garment's life — respecting what was made before, so that it may be worn again.

What the atelier does

The work, defined.

No. 01

Repaired

Tears, fraying, and broken seams mended by hand, matching original thread and stitch where possible.

No. 02

Resized

Garments taken in or let out, always preserving the original seam allowance and construction.

No. 03

Reconstructed

Damaged pieces re-cut into new silhouettes — a second life built around what remains.

No. 04

Altered

Hems, sleeves, and proportions adjusted to fit a new wearer while respecting the original line.

No. 05

Re-lined

Worn linings replaced with period-appropriate silk, the original retained where sound.

No. 06

Restored

Structure rebuilt — boning, pleats, closures — so a fragile garment can be worn once more.

The principle

We do not erase what was done before. We add our stitch beside it, so the garment can be worn once more — and remembered.
