About Bella Cinquini

Giving new purpose to old pieces.

Isabella, founder of Bella Cinquini

Bella Cinquini began with a love for clothing that had already lived a life.

What started as a personal fascination with vintage clothing slowly became something much bigger. I found myself drawn less to simply owning old garments and more to understanding them — how they were made, who might have worn them, why certain details were constructed the way they were, and what could be done to give them another life.

I began collecting, altering, restoring, and reconstructing vintage pieces, teaching myself more about sewing and garment construction along the way. The more I worked with vintage clothing, the more fascinated I became by the hands that had worked on these garments before me. An old dress might have been altered decades ago for a different body, repaired after being loved a little too much, or carefully stored away for years. Those imperfections and traces of its history are part of what makes each piece special.

Bella Cinquini grew from that fascination.

Today, Bella Cinquini exists somewhere between a fashion label, vintage archive, and small atelier. I work with vintage garments as well as create original pieces inspired by the silhouettes, materials, and women who have shaped fashion history.

My work is heavily influenced by film, music, old photographs, museums, and the people who wore these clothes before us. Sometimes an entire piece begins with a photograph. Sometimes it's a garment I find in an antique shop. Sometimes it's a detail I notice in a museum thousands of miles from home.

I don't want to erase the history of a garment when I work with it. I want to add to it.

Every piece is an opportunity to take something old, preserve what makes it beautiful, and give it a reason to be loved again.
